The ChrisKen Residential Trust ("CRT") is a private equity real estate investment trust specializing in the acquisition, ownership and management of multifamily apartment communities. As a REIT, CRT pools the capital of investors that want to participate in the real estate business without the illiquidity of direct ownership.
According to REIT legislation, CRT is required to pay at least 90% of taxable net income to its investors in the form of dividends that range from 7% - 10%.
CRT investments offer an excellent way to diversify portfolios. Investors are able to invest in high quality real estate without a large capital investment. Furthermore, CRT provides more liquidity than direct real estate investing.
CRT operates under the direction of a Board of Trustees. The majority of the Trustees are independent from management. The Board of Trustees is responsible for the overall management and control of the affairs of the Trust.
The Articles provide for a Board of Trustees consisting of three classes, each of whose members serves for a staggered three-year term. At each annual meeting of the Stockholders, the appropriate number of Trustees will be elected for a three- year term to succeed the Trustees of the same class whose terms are then expiring.
